- Conducted collaborative research on the production and characterization of lead nanowires (20 to 70nm diameter). Developing novel procedures to electrodeposit aqueous lead into a polycarbonate membrane.

Discovery Ride - Cycle Across America 2002
- Solo bicycle journey across the continental United States during the summer of 2002 to collect ride data with a GPS unit.
- Studyied the effect that terrain, wind, and endurance training have on long distance touring bicyclist performance.

Research Experience for Teachers (RET), Materials Research Science and Engineering Center (MRSEC) : The Pennsylvania State University; University Park, PA; Summer 2001
- Conducted original materials science research on Yttrium-Barium-Copper-Oxide (YBCO) superconductors. Research focus was on producing macroscale samples that exhbit the Meissner effect at minimal cost in the high school science class.
- Collaborated with a material science group in the production of magnetic semiconductor materials. Responsible for sample preparation and processing.
- Manufactured an interface box which expands the flexibility of connection combinations for a measurement apparatus.
